Going out from there they passed through Galilee,
and he did not wish anyone to know;
for he was teaching his disciples,
and he said to them, "Put these words into your ears:
the human son is going to be given over
into the hands of people,
and they will kill him,
and being killed after three days he will rise up."
But they were ignorant of this saying;
it was hidden from them lest they should perceive it,
and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
As they were coming into Capernaum,
the ones receiving the two-drachma tax approached Peter
and said, "Doesn't your teacher pay the two-drachma?"
He said, "Yes."
When he came into the house,
Jesus anticipated him saying, "What do you think, Simon?
From whom do the kings of the earth receive duty or tax?
From their sons or from others?"
He having said, "From others,"
Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are free.
But so that we should not offend them,
go to the sea, cast a hook
and take the first fish coming up,
and opening its mouth you will find a four-drachma coin;
taking that give it to them for yours and mine."
