Then he began to reproach the cities
in which most of his powerful deeds occurred,
because they did not change their minds.
"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!
For if the powerful deeds which occurred among you
had occurred in Tyre and Sidon,
long ago they would have repented
sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
But I tell you, it will be more bearable
for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
"And you, Capernaum,
will you be lifted up as high as heaven?
You shall go down as low as Hades;
for if the powerful deeds which occurred among you
had occurred in Sodom, it would have remained until today.
But I tell you that it will be more bearable
for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you."
In that moment Jesus said, "I acknowledge you, Father,
Lord of heaven and earth,
that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent,
and revealed them to infants;
yes, Father, that this was pleasing before you.
"Everything was given over to me by my Father;
no one recognizes the son except the Father,
nor does anyone recognize the Father except the son
and to whomever the son chooses to reveal him.
"Come to me all who labor and are burdened,
and I will refresh you.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for your souls,
for my yoke is kind and my burden is light."
