John 19:17-27

And the soldiers led him away inside the palace,
that is, the praetorium,
and they call together the whole cohort.
And they dressed him in purple
and having woven a crown put it on him;
and they began to salute him, "Hail, king of the Jews!"
and they beat his head with a reed and spat on him,
and kneeling they worshipped him.
And when they had mocked him,
they took the purple off him and dressed him in his clothes.

And they lead him out so that they might crucify him.
And they enlist passing by a certain Simon
a Cyrenian coming from the country,
the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross.
Mark 15:16-21

Then soldiers of the governor
taking along Jesus into the praetorium
gathered around him the whole cohort.
And undressing him they put a purple cloak around him,
and having woven a crown out of thorns
they put it on his head
and put a reed in his right hand,
and kneeling before him they mocked him
saying, "Hail, king of the Jews!"
and spitting on him they took the reed and beat his head.

And when they had mocked him,
they took the cloak off him and dressed him in his clothes,
and they led him away to crucify him.
And going out they found a Cyrenian person, named Simon;
they compelled him to carry his cross.
Matthew 27:27-32

And as they led him away,
grabbing Simon a Cyrenian coming from the country
they put the cross on him to carry it behind Jesus.
And a large number of the people followed him
and women who mourned and lamented him.

And turning to them Jesus said,
"Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me;
but weep for yourselves and for your children,
for look, days come on which they will say,
'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne,
and breasts that have not nursed!'
Then they will begin to say to the mountains, 'Fall on us,'
and to the hills, 'Cover us;'
for if they do these things when the wood is green,
what will happen when it is dry?"

And also two different criminals
were led with him to be executed.
Luke 23:26-32

And they bring him to the place Golgotha,
which translated is the place of the skull.
And they gave him myrrh-flavored wine,
but he did not take it.
And they crucify him, and divide his clothes,
throwing lots on them who might take what.

And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
And the inscription of the charge written over him was:
THE KING OF THE JEWS.

And with him they crucify two robbers,
one on his right and one on his left.
And those passing by reviled him shaking their heads
and saying, "Ah, the one tearing down the temple
and building it in three days!
save yourself by coming down from the cross."

Likewise also the high priests
mocking to each other with the scholars
said, "He saved others; he cannot save himself;
let the Christ the king of Israel
come down now from the cross,
so that we may see and believe."
And the ones crucified with him insulted him.
Mark 15:22-32

And coming to a place called Golgotha,
which means the place of the skull,
they gave him wine mixed with gall to drink;
and tasting it he would not drink it.
And having crucified him
they divided his clothes throwing lots,
and sitting they kept watch over him there.
And they put above his head his charge written:
THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Then they crucified with him two robbers,
one on the right and one on the left.
And those passing by reviled him shaking their heads
and saying, "The one tearing down the temple
and building it in three days,
save yourself, if you are the son of God,
and come down from the cross."

Likewise also the high priests
mocking with the scholars and elders
said, "He saved others; he cannot save himself;
he is king of Israel!
Let him come down now from the cross
and we will believe in him.
He has trusted in God;
let him rescue him now if he wants him;
for he said, 'I am God's son.'"
And in the same way the robbers crucified with him
also insulted him.
Matthew 27:33-44

And when they came upon the place called the Skull,
there they crucified him and the two criminals,
one on the right and the other on the left.

And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them;
for they do not know what they are doing."

And dividing his clothes they threw lots.
And the people stood watching.
And the rulers also ridiculed him
saying, "He saved others; let him save himself,
if he is the Christ of God the chosen one."

And the soldiers approaching also mocked him,
offering him vinegar and saying,
"If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself."
And there was also an inscription over him:
THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

And one of the criminals hanging reviled him,
"Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us."

But the other answering reproaching him said,
"Do you not fear God, for you are under the same verdict?
And we justly,
for we did things worthy of what we are receiving back;
but this one did nothing out of place."
And he said, "Jesus,
remember me when you come into your sovereignty."

And he said to him, "Amen, I tell you,
today you will be with me in paradise."
Luke 23:33-43

So they took along Jesus;
and carrying the cross himself
he went out to the place of the skull,
which in Hebrew is called Golgotha,
where they crucified him,
and with him two others on each side, and in the middle Jesus.

And Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross;
and it was written:
JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Therefore many of the Jews read this title,
for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city;
and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, Greek.

Therefore the high priests of the Jews
said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The king of the Jews,'
but that that one said, 'I am king of the Jews.'"

Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written."

So the soldiers, when they crucified Jesus, took his clothes
and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and the tunic.
But the tunic was seamless, woven from the top throughout.
So they said to each other, "Let us not split it,
but decide about it by lot whose it shall be;"
that the scripture might be fulfilled:

They divided my clothes themselves
and over my robe they threw lots.

So the soldiers did these things.

And there stood by the cross of Jesus
his mother and his mother's sister,
Mary wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

So Jesus seeing his mother
and the disciple standing by whom he loved,
he says to his mother, "Woman, look, your son."
They he says to the disciple, "Look, your mother."
And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
John 19:17-27
