One of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him;
and entering the Pharisee's home he sat down.
And look, a woman who was a sinner in the city,
also having discovered that he was dining in the Pharisee's home,
brought an alabaster jar of perfume
and standing behind at his feet weeping,
she began to wet his feet with her tears,
and she wiped them off with the hair of her head,
and kissed his feet and anointed them with the perfume.
But the Pharisee who invited him seeing said within himself,
"If this one were a prophet, he would have recognized
who and what kind of woman was touching him,
for she is a sinner."
And Jesus answering said to him,
"Simon, I have something to tell you."
And he says, "Teacher, say it."
"There were two debtors to a certain creditor;
the one owed five hundred days' wages, the other fifty.
Neither of them having it to pay back he pardoned both.
Therefore which of them will love him more?"
Simon answering said,
"I suppose the one for whom he pardoned more."
And he said to him, "You judged correctly."
And turning toward the woman he said to Simon,
"Do you see this woman?
I entered your home;
you did not give me water for my feet;
but she wet my feet with her tears
and wiped them off with her hair.
You did not give me a kiss;
but she from the time I entered
has not left off kissing my feet.
You did not anoint my head with olive oil;
but she anointed my feet with perfume.
For this reason I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven,
for she loved much;
but whoever is forgiven little, loves little."
And he said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
And the guests began to say among themselves,
"Who is this, who even forgives sins?"
And he said to the woman,
"Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
And it happened that he traveled
from one town and village to another
preaching the good message of the sovereignty of God,
and the twelve with him, and certain women
who were healed from bad spirits and illnesses:
Mary the one called Magdalene,
from whom seven demons had gone out,
and Joanna wife of Chuza, Herod's manager, and Susanna
and many others who supported them from their possessions.
