Herod the tetrarch, having been criticized by John
concerning Herodias, his brother's wife,
and all the evil things which Herod did,
added also this above all: he locked up John in prison.
And after the arrest of John
Jesus came into Galilee preaching the good message of God
and saying, "The time has been fulfilled,
and near is the sovereignty of God;
change your minds and believe in the good message."
And having heard that John was arrested,
he withdrew into Galilee.
And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee,
and news went out through the whole country around about him.
And he taught in their synagogues, being praised by all.
For Jesus himself testified that
a prophet in his own homeland has no honor.
So when he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him,
having seen everything he had done in Jerusalem at the feast;
for they too had gone to the feast.
So he came again to Cana of Galilee,
where he had made the water wine.
And there was a certain royal official
whose son was ill at Capernaum;
this one having heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee,
went to him and asked that he come down and cure his son;
for he was about to die.
So Jesus said to him, "Unless you see miracles and omens,
you will not believe at all."
They royal official says to him,
"Lord, come down before my child dies."
Jesus says to him, "Go, your son lives."
The person believed the word which Jesus said to him,
and he went; and as he was going down,
the servants met him, saying that his boy lives.
So he inquired of them the hour in which he had gotten better;
so they said to him,
"Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him."
Therefore the father knew that that was the hour
in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives."
And he and his whole household believed.
This second miracle Jesus did coming from Judea to Galilee.
